Cardiff Half Marathon
I ran in this event last year when it included a marathon (2 laps). The race venue is the big attraction to enter. The start is away from the stadium in St. Mary's Street otherwise you have limited access to the Stadium beforehand for changing. The finish is inside the stadium where runners complete over 3/4 of the perimeter of the pitch with spectators on the upper tier cheering us on.
For entry details visit http://www.cardiffmarathon.org/ . You are advised to enter early for this popular event and no later than 14 September. The entry fee is £20 for affiliated runners (VRUK paid-up members) otherwise £21 and starts at 9am.
Given the early start of 9am, arranging a meet-up prior to the start will be difficult. If you are ready at 8.30am, I will aim to be just outside the stadium (not the road) but on the far right. From experience of last year's event, you need to be on your way to the start by 8.45am otherwise the narrow road leading into St. Mary's Street becomes very congested and you may miss the start.
After you have finished and changed, suggest as a meeting point upstairs in the public area overlooking the finishing straight otherwise, give me a call on 07967 589663.
